A Little Girl's Heart
A Little Girl’s Heart
It was a short-term missions’ trip; we would be there a little less than a year. The children’s summer clothes were in one suitcase and their winter clothes in another. Their backpacks were filled with important personal items and toys. Upon arrival, our 7-year-old daughter's coat was nowhere to be found. A family member from the USA mailed her a coat, a beautiful white coat with lime green and dark blue trim. Our daughter was filled with joy; the pretty coat arrived just in time for winter weather.
The winters were cold, and I knew my daughter needed a scarf, hat, and gloves to go with her coat. Being from another country, we were unfamiliar where to look for a child's colorful wintery accessories. We found black, brown, dark green and even dark blue but they were not enticing to our daughter. The needed winter items became a matter of prayer for our family, especially for her. About 3 weeks before Christmas a package came from the mother of a friend. She had mailed Christmas gifts to each of the children. The gifts were wrapped, and underneath was the sweetest answer to prayer - a hat, a scarf and gloves in the perfect colors: white, lime green, navy and light blue! Our little girl’s prayers had been answered, and my faith was encouraged that God had heard the cry of a little girl’s heart. We stood in awe for our God who cares so, so much for the desires of our hearts, especially a child’s! Thank you, Jesus for your tender mercies and your lovingkindness!
psalms 37:4. “Take Delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.”
