Strength to the Broken-hearted
2 Corinthians 6:18 "And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."
Have you ever been in a situation where you feel, "God is not Good?"
I know He is Good and He is Trustworthy! I was trained to know this and I believe it! Scripture promises this! Yet at times what I know, and seemingly what I see, have no words or understanding in my heart. A mother passing away and leaves 2 small children; a father dies of cancer and leaves a wife with 4 children; a child who grows up in the church, claims to love God and lives with addictions; a grandfather who attended church his whole life and then takes it at his own will. The list goes on. What scripture promise do we give? Do we tell these family members, "God Loves, God is Good, God Protects, God Guides, He will not fail you?"
Death, sin, ill health, are not God's design. He never intended for us to experience pain to the point we do not think we can breathe, but it happens. He intended us to breathe life, to breathe love, to breathe light and freedom of heart in Him.
The answer to the above question is, "Yes!" With love and discernment, as the Father gives Hope to his children, the Words of Scripture are needed to bring strength to the broken-hearted.
Psalm 103:13: "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
