Yes, Be Not Afraid

For they all saw him and were troubled. But immediately He talked with them and said to them, “Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid.” Mark 6:50

                                                             Yes,  Be Not Afraid

We are working to keep a good attitude. The storm we are experiencing is swamping our spirit. Though we struggle to look for the good, the sprays of disappointment, loss of purpose, rejection hit us in our spiritual journey.

What are we to do? We pray but no clear answer.  Wait? How long can we work without losing the battle?

I am reminded of the night Jesus went to pray. He watched His disciples struggling to keep their boat afloat in the strong storm they were in. At the fourth watch Jesus came to them suddenly and in an unexpected way. In fact, they were afraid, and yelled in fear.  But He said to them, “Be of good cheer!  It is I. Do not be afraid.” He climbed into their boat and the wind died down.

Heavenly Father, may we recall You know what is happening. You have Your eyes upon us. At just the right moment you will stop our storm by showing us You are where we are because You step into our situation. Thank You ahead of time. May Your will be done in Your perfect, though perhaps unusual way.  Thank You for sending Jesus to earth so we know You are in charge of our lives. It is in His name we come to You with joy and confidence.
