"I wish I were braver"

unnamed-1.png

“So, I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find. Knock and the door will be opened to you…If you then, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”  Luke 11:9,13

In the Prince Caspian movie, there is a scene I cannot forget. Lucy and Aslan are having a conversation in the middle of the night, and to Lucy’s dismay Aslan explains to her what she will have to do in the coming days for the battle to be won. Plaintively, she says to him, “Can’t you just come in and roar and defeat them like you did the last time.”

With his low lion growl, Aslan says, “I never work the same way twice.”

In a timid voice, she says “I wish I were braver.”

And Aslan responds, “If you were any braver, you would be a lioness. Come here and let me breathe on you!”

Come to Jesus today; no time is ever wasted in His presence. Let Him breathe His Holy Spirit on you so that you will know the joy of His presence and receive all the all the courage, wisdom, grace, and strength for each moment of today.

“‘Peace be with you.’ When He said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord…So Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you! As the Father has sent me, I also send you.’ And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’”

Praying Scripture for our families is a way we can align our hearts with the heart of God and pray in accordance with His will. Take some time this week to personalize some Scriptures, like this one from Isaiah  and pray for you family as you move into a new season.

As for Me, says the Lord, this is my covenant with them:My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your children nor from the mouth of your children’s children, says the Lord, from this time forth and forevermore.

Isaiah 59:21
