If you must, Use Words
My husband and I were overseas a little less than a year. At the close of our time, we still did not know the language enough to carry on a fluid conversation. I asked the Lord why he would take us to another country and not teach us the language. "How does one win people for Christ if they don't know the language?" After carrying that thought for several days. The Lord sweetly replaced my thought, "Do you think, maybe I just wanted to use your lives and not your voices?"
So many times, we feel like we need to witness to other people, and yet there are no words. Many times, on the ball field, at work in church or a spiritual setting, no words come. In 2 Peter 3:1,2 the Lord is talking to wives, but I believe it is for all of us. His Word says, "...your Godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over by observing your pure and reverent lives." During our final days in the country one of the teachers shared with us, "Thank you for expanding our lives outside this room and making our world bigger. You taught us how to love beyond ourselves." The Holy Spirit is faithful to go before us and speak into the hearts of those for whom we are praying. He desires for our lives to be a second witness, and many times: “No Words Needed.”
