When the Seasons Bring Change

Surrender to Jesus Through the Seasons

As we enter a new year, it is helpful for us to spend some focused time with Jesus, allowing Him to heal the hurts of 2021 and lead us into 2022 by His Holy Spirit.

We want to transition well into the new year and not bring with us all the pain of 2021. As we leave those hurts at the feet of Jesus, we will find a freedom to enter 2022 without fear or dread.

Titus Women offers this guide to help you listen to Jesus as He leads you into a new year, allowing Him to heal the hurts of the past year and usher us into a new season of hope.

• Use this to help you to pray. It is designed for coming to Jesus in a significant season, for example a time of struggle, moving into something different in life, a new year or a new direction, a deep need for healing e

• Write the headings (bold text) in your journal so that you can take as much space as you need to respond to God. You will probably want to pray through this slowly, in several sittings in order to really take time for God to meet you and for you not to feel overwhelmed.

Prayer At the end of this season, I come to the cross. O Lord, thank You that You love me, and You have seen all that has been. Thank You, Jesus, that You died and rose again to deal with all my sin, and that the blood Jesus cleanses me, sets me free, heals and transforms me. Thank You Jesus that You bore my sorrows and carried my griefs and all the sin done against me, and that Your word says: by your wounds I can be healed. (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24) Jesus, you say . . . 28 “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11- NRSV)

So I come to You today Jesus, in confession, in surrender and in deep need. Holy Spirit show me what I am carrying. I cannot go on until I have cast the burdens of this season onto You. Holy Spirit come, help me to allow You to take my burdens. Wash me clean from all the sin I am carrying; from myself or from others, by the blood of Jesus. Lord set me free from all that is binding me or that is bound to me in Jesus name.

Jesus help me to receive Your rest for my soul. Holy Spirit lead me to walk yoked with You, step by step in this new season. Holy Father, I bow down and say I have not loved You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength, and I have not loved my neighbor as myself. Holy Spirit show me where I have lived for self. Jesus show me where I have not allowed You to reign or to fill me with Your Spirit of Holiness, in my thoughts, words, actions and in what I have not done. (Be still and listen.

Write down anything you feel the Lord is showing you.) Jesus forgive me for: Attitudes Thoughts Page 2 Words Idols (what loved more than You, or have allowed to become my focus, to hold my heart, to influence me, or where I have put my hope) I confess I have not: Thank You for Your forgiveness and cleansing in Jesus name.

Now I come to cast my burdens on to You. I don’t want to carry these myself. I give You all that has been in this season: Events/circumstances/relationships: Feelings/effects on my mind/reactions: I bring my wounds for Your healing: I surrender these questions to You: Cut the ties and take what feels bound to me: Set me free from: Fill me with Your love and mercy to forgive: I need Your rest for my soul, especially in: I worship You and thank You because: I need to walk forward yoked with You, dependent on You and learning from You, especially in: Revelation 1:17

“When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.” Revelation 3:7 “…These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”

Jesus be the first and the last, the beginning and the end in my heart and all my circumstances and relationships in this new season. I give You all my plans and desires, all that I expect, want and need. Especially: I trust them into Your loving hands. I surrender all to You and welcome You to hold the keys of my heart and life.

Open what You choose to open, and close what You choose to close, with all Your power and authority. Jesus, You reign over my time, events, emotions, relationships, needs, finances, health and possessions.

You are my King and I bow at Your throne asking You to lead me, change me, fill me and carry me. Cover me with the blood of Jesus for Your protection and Your peace and Your holiness. I worship You Alpha and Omega and I pray that You will have Your way. Your Kingdom and Your will be done in my life. In Jesus name, Amen (Be still and listen . Write down anything you feel the Lord is showing you .)
